Note All containers must be unlabeled and neutral in colour. No branded dairy packaging. Milk Club props (apron, mixing bowl, whisk, etc.) will be provided by the client for applicable crafts.

What You'll Need

  • 1 clean, dry milk carton (unlabeled/neutral colour)
  • 1 plastic or bamboo straw
  • Small piece of paper (for sail)
  • Scissors
  • Optional: small flat weight (coin or clay) for ballast

Steps

  1. Cut a little hole in the milk carton the size of the straw.
  2. Insert a straw through the top as the mast, securing with tape.
  3. Cut a triangle or rectangle from paper and thread the straw through top and bottom to form the sail.
  4. Place the boat in water.
  5. Adjust the balance by repositioning the mast or adding a small flat weight (such as a coin or small piece of clay) to the base if the boat tips to one side.
