This course helps students develop healthier eating patterns, using information about the roles different foods play as contributing or preventive factors in a variety of health disorders. It also helps them get a better understanding of personal and external factors that affect people’s food choices and eating habits.
In this module students will assess the benefits human societies derive from biodiversity by exploring and identifying everyday products that come from a common but unique place – cattle.
Students will discover some of the similarities and differences in various aspects of everyday farming life in early Canada and today. The lesson shares some of the challenges facing people in Canada around the beginning of the nineteenth century and compares them with those in the present today.
